People around Leeds United have criticized Daniel Farke after the club’s recent form.

The last two games against Sunderland and Bournemouth seem to have sparked a lot of questions. Mainly why the team is not good enough to win games.

Leeds had to come from a goal down to draw with Man United, and against Sunderland they had plenty of chances to score.

The Bournemouth game started well for them before James Trafford’s blunder gave it away.

Leeds have scored just two goals in their last four games, despite having a lot of chances. This alone shows that there should be concern about how the team attacks as a unit.

Farke was asked about attacking freedom in his side, ahead of this weekend’s game against Spurs.

He then gave a very measured answer about how he sets up Leeds to play and attack.

”Everyone would say they have lots of freedom. Don’t believe in managers who say they can play with freedom because that means you have no clue how to teach them processes.

”Important to give them clear options, then creativity comes when they are able to pick the right choice. We work a lot on final third game, difficult if key players aren’t in training but they have still lots of freedom within processes.

”Harry one of those players, away at Bournemouth his best game for Leeds and we need this because other key players are missing.”

Does something need to change?

Yes, something needs to change if Leeds want to get back on track.

The attack is not at the level it was last year; Harry Wilson has not been great, and Okafor has not been fit enough to play multiple games.

It has been Calvert-Lewin carrying the load this season, and it seems to be taking a toll.

Farke needs to find a way to make other players fit in the system and help the team win games. Experimenting with Dan James against Bournemouth was a huge positive, and maybe that could be the key going forward.
