Leeds United manager Daniel Farke has done a brilliant job of keeping the club in the Premier League, and some former Whites bosses are already doing well at a lower level.

Michael Skubala was part of the Leeds coaching staff previously and was even interim manager for a while at Elland Road before leaving the club in 2023.

He has been in charge of Lincoln City since 2023, and his reputation has only been enhanced after the side had a historic season in League One, where they won promotion to the Championship by winning the league.

However, his performance at Lincoln City is set to lead to his departure as well. Skubala will be a Championship manager next season, but probably at a different club.

Bristol City triggers release clause for Michael Skubala

Bristol City appointed former England boss Roy Hodgson as their interim manager, and he guided them towards safety with a 12th-place finish in the Championship.

They are now looking for a new manager, and the club have identified Skubala as their top target ahead of the summer.

According to the Daily Telegraph, Bristol City have triggered the release clause in Skubala’s Lincoln City contract to push for his arrival.

The Championship club will now hold talks with the former Leeds interim boss and hope to agree on a deal to appoint him as their new manager.

It would be a big blow for Lincoln City ahead of their return to the Championship if they end up losing the manager who got them promoted.

However, it seems Skubala will become the next Bristol City boss if the talks between him and the club go according to plan.

Skubala deserves a crack at a solid Championship club
