Tottenham Hotspur needed a win at home against Leeds United on Monday night, but only got a draw. The Whites have already sealed their place in the top flight for another season.
This came after West Ham failed to get a result against Arsenal on Sunday. Spurs looked like they were up for the task with how well they played in the first half on Monday. Karl Darlow did enough to keep the home side out in the first period, but Tottenham took the lead just five minutes into the second half. Leeds then got back into the game after Mathys Tel clumsily gave away a penalty.
Simon Jordan drops bold Premier League verdict
The game ended in a draw, but the performances from both teams were enough to convince the people watching. Simon Jordan said on talkSPORT, that even with Leeds United having secured survival, they will not be an easy side to face in the final games of the season.
“I don’t think anyone thinks that Leeds are a gimme; they have proven in the last three or four months that they are anything but a gimme.
“The added intensity of Tottenham’s needs was greater than Leeds.
“Leeds had little to play for, but as Daniel Farke said last night, when you play for Leeds United, you have got to put on that shirt.
“If you don’t show that prerequisite amount of intensity, you don’t get that shirt in the first place.”
West Ham will play the Whites on the final day of the season. Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have not beaten Daniel Farke’s men in their two previous meetings this season.

West Ham are in big trouble after Leeds game
The battle for the last spot in the relegation zone could come down to margins. And as things stand, Spurs have the slight upper hand. Roberto De Zerbi’s men are now two points above the hammers with two games to go. Now for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side to remain in the top flight, they will have to win their last two games and hope Spurs slip up.
Both sides have difficult fixtures to end the season – Spurs have Chelsea and Everton, while West Ham have Newcastle United and Leeds. So that draw Tottenham managed on Monday night could end up saving their season if it comes down to it.
