Leeds United will want to finish their home season with a strong performance and three points when they host Brighton at Elland Road on Sunday.

Daniel Farke’s side showed on Monday night that they won’t be giving an inch in the final weeks of the season, even though they are confirmed to stay in the Premier League.

Leeds worked their socks off to get a point against Tottenham despite all the moaning from Spurs about a controversial penalty call towards the end of the season.

The Whites will play their last game of the season at home on Sunday when they host Brighton, and the Premier League has confirmed the match officials for the game.

Premier League confirms referee for Leeds vs Brighton clash

The Premier League has confirmed the referees who will take charge of the Leeds game against Brighton at Elland Road on Sunday afternoon.

Michael Oliver, considered one of England’s finest referees, will be the main on-field official for Leeds’ last home game of the season.

Stuart Burt and James Mainwaring will be Oliver’s assistants for the game, and Sam Allison will be the fourth official, who will be in charge of maintaining the decorum in the technical areas on the sidelines.

Stuart Attwell will be the Video Assistant Referee (VAR), with Constantine Hatzidakis working as the assistant VAR for the game.

Oliver is known for his no-nonsense tough officiating, and Leeds will hope that he takes control of the game as the Whites look to perform for the home fans one last time this season.

The refereeing during the 1-1 draw at Tottenham has attracted criticism, with James Maddison directly questioning the role of VAR in the game.

Oliver and his team of officials hope that they do not grab the headlines after the game.

Michael Oliver also officiated the reverse fixture in November

He was the on-field official when Leeds were hammered 3-0 by Brighton at the Amex Stadium in early November.

Leeds were in a horrendous run of form at that time, and Oliver didn’t really make the headlines as Farke’s side deservedly lost against the Seagulls.

Oliver was also in charge of Leeds’ 2-2 draw against Bournemouth at home, when Andoni Iraola famously quipped about the intensity of the home side.

The referee had some big decisions to make during that game as Leeds physically dominated Bournemouth, who were left shocked by the home side’s intensity.
