Daniel Farke delivered an update on team news ahead of Leeds United hosting Man United this weekend. The two sides will renew their rivalry on Sunday.

The visitors come into the game in the worst of form; Michael Carrick’s side cannot seem to catch a break.

Following their draw against 10-man Spurs at Old Trafford, they lost midweek in the Champions League. That has sparked a lot of conversations around the players and the manager ahead of a big game.

Leeds will be more relaxed following a disappointing defeat to Arsenal over the weekend.

But heading into Sunday’s game, everyone expects the Whites to be favourites and take maximum points.

Daniel Farke has revealed that Leeds United will be without Joe Rodon this weekend, as the defender recovers from his hamstring injury. The Welsh international still has some time before he fully recovers.

But the Leeds boss confirmed some positive news as Dan James was involved in training on Thursday.

Outside that, it is unlikely that the team has any problems, and Farke will be able to call on the full strength of his squad.

”Progression. Joe [Rodon] will still miss this game, on week seven so edging closer, good progress. Won’t be too long until team training but not yet.

”Daniel James was out for 10 days, since yesterday back on the pitch with us. We have to see how his body reacts but back in training, it seems to be improved. Chance he’ll be involved.”

The last meeting between Leeds and Man United ended in a win for the Whites at Old Trafford.

Defensive replacements have been excellent so far

When Leeds left the summer window by signing more centre backs and not a striker, some fans had questions. But as the season has progressed, the decision has fully justified itself.

Nico Elvedi and Tarik Muharemovic are arguably two of the best players in Leeds colours in this campaign.

For a club that plays most games in a back three, having a lot of options on the bench is a really good thing. Joe Rodon went down and Elvedi stepped up and has been playing like he has been there for years.

Daniel Farke will be hoping that the team fares much better this weekend as poor defending cost them last week against Arsenal.
