Leeds United could face a difficult decision over Tarik Muharemovic if interest in the defender continues to grow, as the club balances its long-term ambitions against the possibility of a major transfer offer.

The Whites will be keen to retain their best young talent as they look to establish themselves in the Premier League. Losing a promising centre-back as he starts to attract attention from Europe’s biggest clubs would be a major setback.

However, reports linking Muharemovic with Bayern Munich have raised questions about whether the German giants could make a move in the future.

Christian Falk responds to Bayern Munich links

Bayern Munich transfer expert Christian Falk has now downplayed speculation surrounding the Leeds-linked defender.

On his podcast, Falk dismissed the rumour, saying, “No, not true again.”

He pointed out that Muharemovic only began playing regularly in the summer and is under contract until 2031, meaning any potential deal would likely be expensive.

“He will be very expensive, and Bayern Munich won’t go for him at the moment,” Falk explained.

The journalist added that Bayern do not plan transfers so far ahead, particularly for a potential move in 2027.

“They have a short list and know the player, but it’s not so concrete to say, ‘this is a topic for Bayern Munich’,” he said.

Falk also noted that Bayern have several defenders to consider and will assess their needs as the situation develops.

Liverpool and Manchester United have also been linked with a move for the Leeds defender in the summer of 2027.

Leeds can focus on keeping Muharemovic

For Leeds, Falk’s comments offer some reassurance that the Bayern Munich links should not be treated as evidence of an imminent transfer.

The club still needs to plan for the future, and keeping promising players like Muharemovic would send a clear message. Leeds cannot expect to progress if they repeatedly lose their best talent whenever bigger clubs show an interest.

For now, there is no concrete indication that Bayern are preparing a move. Leeds can focus on their own plans, while Muharemovic’s long contract puts them in a strong position if interest becomes more serious.
