Leeds United took a huge step towards safety as they managed to get a big win over Manchester United. Things looked bleak over the past few weeks when Daniel Farke’s side won two points from their last four games.

With West Ham and Nottingham Forest picking up points over the weekend, the Whites needed to get something from Monday’s game. Leeds played one of their best games of the season as they dominated the first half. Manchester United were lucky not to be down by three goals in the first 45 minutes. A brace from Noah Okafor was enough to see the away side take away three crucial points at Old Trafford.

Now, Leeds will be full of confidence as they prepare to face Wolverhampton Wanderers this weekend. The game will look like another three points after West Ham thrashed the Premier League’s bottom side last Friday.

Everybody will be expecting a win at Elland Road this weekend, but Leeds boss Daniel Farke has warned his side to continue their momentum. He told the team that facing Wolves will be difficult.

“I’m staying humble, not being overconfident and celebrating already” Farke said ahead of Saturday’s game.

“I’m proud of this win, and we take confidence out of this, but we don’t forget where we’re coming from. The momentum can change pretty quickly – we have to stay on it.

“I don’t want to celebrate too much that we have created something really historical. I know we also achieved several records, last season – record goal difference, record points, record goals.

“Saturday will probably be one of our most difficult game during the whole season, because the expectations are high in the home games right now to win.

“I predict it will be a very difficult game and my focus is already to make sure that we deliver points in the next game.”

Whites must not underestimate Wolves on Saturday

After a huge win, the worst thing Leeds United can do is underestimate Wolves. They might be the bottom side in the Premier League, but over the last few months they have picked up wins against Liverpool and Aston Villa. Daniel Farke is right to warn his players not to get complacent. Picking up another three point gap could see the Whites go nine points clear of the relegation zone. This Saturday must be treated like a final, and not an easy game.
