Leeds United’s opponents this weekend, Newcastle, have a new injury doubt ahead of Monday night’s game. The Whites are back at Elland Road following their defeat to Chelsea midweek.

Daniel Farke’s side were battered 6-3 at Stamford Bridge despite taking an early 2-0 lead.

Leeds will be hoping to bounce back from the defeat when they host Newcastle in the next couple of days. The meeting will see both clubs put their unbeaten starts to the league season on the line.

The Whites have not lost in three games, and Matthias Jaissle has also had an impressive start to the season.

The last time both sides met at Elland Road ended in a goalless draw.

There was also the seven-goal thriller when the two teams met in their last game in the Premier League. The Magpies came from a goal down, to win the match 4-3 in the final minutes.

Ahead of Monday night’s clash, Newcastle United have a major injury concern, with fullback Amar Dedic a doubt for the game.

The summer signing felt his hamstring in the midweek League Cup clash with Milwall: “I treat these things really confidentially. I hope my staff too, that nothing comes out.” Jaissle told Newcastle Word.

“Because first of all, it’s about the player and it’s about his health. But what I said already after Millwall, it doesn’t look too serious.”

The Magpies could also be without Joelinton, Dan Burn and William Osula for Monday night. Goalkeeper Ewen Jaouen’s availability is also up in the air ahead of the game.

Positive news for Newcastle is that Tino Livramento played 45 minutes this week.

Daniel Farke has already confirmed Leeds injury news

Leeds have had an impressive start to the season, and the Chelsea result is the only one to disrupt their flow.

The Whites have been impressive in previous games and have showed how good they are with their new signings under Farke.

The Leeds boss confirmed that ‘almost everyone will be available’ for Monday night’s game. Joe Rodon and Ilia Gruev are the only players out sidelined for the home side.

Rodon will be out for a few more weeks with a hamstring injury, and Gruev is not fit enough for first team football.

Dan James shook off a knock to play against Chelsea midweek, and is likely to be ready for the game at Elland Road.
