This week has gone from good to great for Leeds United in the past few days. The Whites recorded a win at Elland Road and have taken a huge step towards survivial.

Beating Wolves over the weekend sees Daniel Farke’s side open an eight-point gap from the bottom three. This week is set to be a pivotal week for Leeds as they could potential reach the FA Cup final this weekend.

They face Chelsea at Wembley in the coming days, and have been handed an advantage following the news on Wednesday. The Blues have sacked Liam Rosenior after he lost his fifth league game in a row. Chelsea were beaten 3-0 by Brighton at the AmEx Stadium on Tuesday which prompted discussions by the club officials, and eventually a decision was made. Calum McFarlane will serve as interim manager when they face Leeds at Wembley this weekend.

Leeds fans unhappy with Daniel Farke decision ahead of Bournemouth clash

Ahead of Wednesday night’s clash with Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium, Leeds fans were bemused before kickoff when the lineups came out. A majority of the supporters were unhappy with Daniel Farke’s decision to go with an unchanged side to face the Cherries away from home. Some were in the comments of the lineup graphic on Twitter/X to voice their frustration.

”Farke obviously thinks the players can play 3 in a week, wrong decision for me should be massively prioritising the cup” one fan posted.

Another questioned the decision: ”Why? Just don’t need the risk of injuries to a full strength team with arguably our biggest game of the last 25 years in a FA cup semi final”

This fan wanted the whole lineup to be rotated: ”Should have sent the kids, Wembley whites need a rest”

”FA Cup semi and you play your best team on a wednesday.. makes sense” another fan said, replying to the post.

This could affect FA Cup semi-final

Many fans are concerned that Farke cannot play his full strength side three times in the space of over a week. Others expected some players to be rested after going eight points clear of the bottom three. Nobody knows what will happen on Wednesday night, but the team selection will affect what happens this weekend. If Farke goes full strength at Wembley, some players will be tired and have heavy legs. And in a crucial one-off game it will be difficult to keep that up for 90 minutes. Leeds fans are right to question the decision of the Leeds boss ahead of Wednesday night’s game.
