Leeds United needed Dominic Calvert-Lewin to step up and score in the 79th minute to ensure they earned a point from a 1-1 draw against Brentford.
Daniel Farke’s men were completely outplayed by Brentford in the first half, and the away side were more than deserving to go into the break 1-0 up at Elland Road.
However, Farke made a few changes after the break, and Leeds dug deep and produced a better second-half performance to rescue a point at the end.
Daniel Farke will be pleased to see the tenacity and grit his team showed after the break to ensure Leeds didn’t lose their first home game of the season.

Keith Andrews gives his honest view on Leeds United
Brentford have made a flying start to the season, and they were always going to give a stiff test to Leeds at Elland Road today.
The London side were the overwhelmingly dominant side in the first half, but they got a response from Leeds, who threw more forwards after the break.
However, Andrews stressed that his team were good enough to force Leeds to change their system in the second half and play differently than they would have.
He conceded that his team could have done better to play out better in the second half and hit Leeds on the counter.
Andrews said on Sky Sports after the game: “In the second half they made a lot of changes and had a lot more attacking players.
“We forced them into changing the system.
“And you have got to defend really well and have got to respect what comes your way.
“I think we did that in the main.
“We restricted them to very few opportunities; we just couldn’t play our way out of trouble on occasions.”

Big point for Leeds
After the first half, it appeared Leeds were heading towards a defeat in their first home Premier League game of the season. But the players responded after the break.
Leeds needed this point after beating Forest on the road last weekend. The draw was also important as they now have a big away trip to Brighton next Saturday.
With four points in their bag after two games, Leeds will be under less pressure to get a result against a tough Brighton side away from home.
