Monday night will be an important clash between Leeds United and Tottenham Hotspur. The London club are in the middle of a relegation scrap heading into the game.
Over the last few weeks, it has become clear that the last team to join the bottom three will be between Spurs and West Ham. After last week’s result, Roberto De Zerbi’s side have gone one point above the Hammers at the bottom half of the table. With three games to go, this weekend’s fixtures could determine what happens in the battle for relegation. West Ham face Arsenal on Sunday, and Leeds take on Spurs on Monday night.
Alan Shearer gives verdict on Leeds United vs Spurs clash
It will be a difficult tie, as no one can really predict who will win looking at the current form of both teams. But Alan Shearer believes it will be a straightforward result for Roberto De Zerbi’s side.
”Leeds are going to play a huge part in who gets relegated, because they play both Spurs and West Ham. It’s fascinating, but I think with what I saw from Spurs last week, they may just have enough now to stay up. And I guess with the energy that they showed the other day, I think they’ll have enough to beat Leeds at home. Spurs to win.” he wrote in his Metro column.
”Roberto De Zerbi has got a shift out of those players, and you didn’t see any of that six or seven weeks ago. It looks a brilliant move now to bring De Zerbi in when they did, that’s the reason why they did it then it was to get something different out of the players that they had not been showing, and it looks as if he’s getting that difference now which they’ve not had for large parts of this season, or for any of the season.”

Shearer is underestimating Leeds
It is a fact that the Whites could be without two of their best players come Monday night, but Leeds are still a strong team. Even without Gudmundsson and Okafor, the team are good enough to go toe to toe with anyone. Monday night’s game will not be as straightforward as Spurs think. Away from home, Daniel Farke tends to find solutions that lead to results. Leeds outclassed Manchester United in the first half at Old Trafford on their way to a 2-1 win, and came from behind twice to hold Bournemouth to a draw. So if Alan Shearer thinks Spurs will have it easy, he is wrong.
