Leeds United are mathematically safe in the Premier League after the results of last weekend. The club have had a spectacular second half of the season which has pushed them to safety.
A lot of credit has to go to the recruitment last summer; the team found solid starters who made a great impact in the campaign. Jaka Bijol and Gabriel Gudmundsson were solid additions to the backline, and Anton Stach was the standout in midfield. Lukas Nmecha, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Noah Okafor immediately became the top scorers in this team when they joined.
Leeds United star set to be out for the season with latest news
Leeds United’s safety was confirmed ahead of their game against Tottenham Hotspur on Monday night. Spurs needed a result as they were just one point above West Ham, who had slipped up on Sunday. Daniel Farke was dealing with multiple injury blows as Noah Okafor and Gabriel Gudmundsson were ruled out of the game.
Pascal Struijk was cleared to play on Monday night, but only lasted about 55 minutes before being taken off. He had a hip injury before the match, and was taken off after feeling some discomfort. MOT Forum are reporting that Struijk landed in Belgium on Tuesday as he plans to go to Lithuania for surgery on the hip problem. He will now be out of the season, as he is set for a long recovery.
This will be a huge blow for the Whites who will now be missing five key players for the upcoming game against Brighton. Struijk joins Okafor, Gudmundsson, Gruev and Bogle on the sidelines ahead of the club’s last game of the season.

Club must address Pascal Struijk’s future this summer
Now that the defender’s season is reportedly over, Leeds United need to take a hard look at what they will do with him in the summer. Struijk was the subject of a late bid in the last summer window, and according to reports, he is gaining suitors after how well he has played this season. He has entered the last year of his contract, and has already spoken about potentially leaving the club. Leeds need to decide if they want to go all in on a renewal, and if he does reject a new deal, they will have to find a way to cash in on him given his current stock.
