Leeds United are set to have another busy summer ahead of them going into next season. The club will have to make sure to avoid the mistakes of the past.

Stuart Dallas recently warned the club chiefs about failing to invest in the team after promotion, and what happened to Marcelo Bielsa’s side back in 2021:

“We finished 9th and then 17th. The club stood still and they didn’t build on what they had there.

“It’s important they don’t make the same mistake. I am sure the guys in charge won’t make the same mistakes.”

The 49ers did a great job with recruitment this past summer, bringing in starting calibre first team players. Jaka Bijol, Gabriel Gudmundsson, Anton Stach and Dominic Calvert-Lewin have improved this team immensely.

No deal for Leeds United star after latest reports

This summer will present the club with a major opportunity to strengthen and avoid the mistakes of the past. Leeds have money available, as seen with their proposal for Jorgen Strand Larsen in January. But fans must keep in mind that financial restrictions will also be around this summer, so the club must make sure to spend within their means. The Whites have a long list of players set to leave the club this summer, if they can sell them – with a handful of them out on loan.

One player who definitely will not be securing a permanent deal after his loan is Jack Harrison. The winger joined Fiorentina in January, and has had a very mixed season. He has got four direct goal involvements in 13 games so far for the Italian side. However, according to the latest report from Firenzeviola, the Serie A side have no intentions to keep him beyond the end of the season. Their stance is said to be firm, and not even a bright end to the season from the Englishman will change that.

Bringing Jack Harrison back was a terrible decision

In hindsight, bringing Jack Harrison back to the club in the first place was a terrible decision by the 49ers. They should have found a way out for the winger during the summer; unfortunately, Everton had him on their list as a last resort. Daniel Farke also chose to take him to pre-season and planned with him in the squad for the Premier League campaign. Unfortunately for the 29-year old, he was poor when he played and was benched for a long stretch after that. And according to Farke, Harrison sought a move away on his own. You will understand why fans will be furious when he eventually returns at the end of the season.
