Leeds United have been on the end of some bad refereeing in the Premier League this season. In some crucial games, things have really gone against Daniel Farke’s men.
Clubs have purposely delayed games with time-wasting antics, and it frequently happens against Leeds. Sunderland employed these tactics when they visited Elland Road earlier this year, and Brentford did the same when both sides played a draw. Even in the FA Cup at Wembley, Chelsea did the same when goalkeeper Robert Sanchez went down with an injury when the Whites had momentum.
The Premier League Match Panel have also recently ruled that Gabriel Gudmundsson should not have been sent off against Crystal Palace, and that Leeds should have gotten a penalty in their loss to Sunderland.
Fans will hate the Premier League’s announcement ahead of Leeds United clash
Farke’s men play on Monday night, and will be the last match among the Premier League teams this weekend. They have a huge game away to Tottenham; with Roberto De Zerbi’s side desperate for points. Spurs have won their last two games and now have a chance to take one big step towards safety come Monday night – they currently sit one point above West Ham.
The Premier League have announced that Jarred Gillett will be the match official when Leeds face Spurs in London. Farke’s side have a terrible record anytime Gillett has taken charge of their games; they have not won a single game. And fans will remember that when the Whites faced Nottingham back in November, the referee wrongly gave a free kick that Forest scored from. Ahead of such a crucial game on Monday night, Leeds United fans will be hoping nothing like that happens again.

Whites have a slight edge heading into Monday night
After a rough start under Roberto De Zerbi, Spurs have won back-to-back Premier League games. They are now out of the relegation zone, and know that another result could move them clear. West Ham play 24 hours before their London rivals kickoff on Monday, so De Zerbi’s side will be on high alert. However, Leeds will be no pushovers. Spurs have one of the worst home forms in the league; their last win at home came in December. Farke’s side on the other hand, are unbeaten in their last six away games; and have lost just one of their last 10. The club are also on a six-game unbeaten run and full of confidence; Monday’s game is set to be an exciting one.
