The Dutchman has been sold to Brighton for a fee said to be around £15 million.
Per reports, the club are pushing to sign Shea Charles after agreeing a deal with midfielder Harry Wilson. Wilson is yet to be formally announced and is currently training in Portugal.

There is no movement yet when it comes to free agent Julian Brandt, but it is very early in this summer window.
Leeds United target could be available after latest news
The goalkeeping position at Leeds United has become complicated these past few weeks.
As things stand, the club have just one keeper under contract – Lucas Perri. Alex Cairns agreed to sign an extension, and Karl Darlow is no longer a Leeds player after this week.
The club now have to find a new keeper, regardless of if Darlow decides to return this summer.
James Trafford remains linked with a move to Elland Road. The Manchester City keeper is open to leaving his club this summer, and as things stand, an exit is very likely.
Per TEAMtalk, City are trying to strike a deal to bring back academy player Pierce Charles.
Charles has been a great performer since joining Sheffield Wednesday. Now, City want him back as they figure out to do with the James Trafford situation.
The report adds that the club have not decided whether to keep Charles for this season, or loan him out. The latter would give Leeds a huge boost this summer.

Decision will lie in the hands of Manchester City
Till date, there are no concrete reports of a move for James Trafford.
Leeds have been interested in the England keeper since he was at Burnley last year. Reports suggest that he is open to a move elsewhere, and new City boss Enzo Maresca could play a part in that.
The potential signing of Pierce Charles could ultimately decide where Trafford ends up.
Per the report, Manchester City are unclear if the youngster will stay with the first team this season, or go out on loan. It will all depend on what the club decides to do with Trafford.
If Charles does stay with City, then Trafford is on his way out.
But if the young keeper is signed and sent out on loan, it is unlikely Leeds have a shot to sign the 23-year old.
