Leeds United are set to jet off to the US for a training camp and pre-season friendlies. Just like last summer, Daniel Farke has already made some big calls concerning first team stars.
The Whites squad list for the trip does not include four players; Max Wober, Joe Gelhardt, Largie Ramazani and Jack Harrison.
Harrison being excluded from this year’s pre-season is a complete u-turn from last year. Farke decided to give him a chance as Leeds were preparing for their Premier League return; and now he’s out.
The new signings Harry Wilson and Tarik Muharemovic have been included as well.
Leeds United leading race for midfielder
Leeds United are still reportedly far from agreeing a deal for Shea Charles.
Southampton are holding out for a fee closer to £30 million, but the Whites have had their last two bids around £23 million. Graham Smyth reported that Leeds wanted to wrap up a deal before their trip to the US.
Another target for the 49ers in this window is Julian Brandt. The German’s father visited Thorp Arch last week and held talks with the club.
Nothing was confirmed, but the meeting signalled that Leeds are now firmly in the race. Former Everton chief Keith Wyness says he believes that the Whites are favourites to land Brandt.
“Leeds are favourites right now to get it done from what I’m hearing as well. I think that would be a real marquee signing for Leeds,” he said to Football Insider.
“I think Brandt is a real talent and he fits exactly what they’re looking for in the squad. I think Farke is upgrading the squad now from what I can see as well.
“I’m seeing Leeds having a positive transfer window at the moment, and I think this is one that will get done.”
Per Football Insider, Juventus and Roma have also held interest in the 30-year old.

Can Leeds really land this deal?
The 49ers have already made giant strides in pursuit of the former Borussia Dortmund star.
Getting his father, who is also his agent, to visit the club is a huge step in the right directions. Leeds have shown over the last year that their project can attract big names.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Harry Wilson and Anton Stach are a few examples who have joined the club from ‘bigger’ clubs.
There will have to be a lot of convincing, and probably financial incentives, but bringing in Julian Brandt on a free transfer is a very plausible move.
