Leeds United deal on verge of collapse after talks stall

Leeds United named their squad list for their US training camp and tour as they ramped up pre-season preparations. Just like last year, Daniel Farke made a call on some first team players.

Almost everyone who will be on the flight to the US is in the club’s plans for next season.

Some signings will be made in the coming weeks, and some players could leave even after making the trip. But the core of players there will have a part to play in the upcoming Premier League campaign.

Unfortunately, the Whites left out four first team players from the squad list.

Max Wober, Largie Ramazani, Jack Harrison and Joe Gelhardt will all remain in England as they sort out their futures.

Leeds United make the trip to the US with just two first team goalkeepers; Lucas Perri and Alex Cairns.

The club have been pushing to sign a new keeper this summer after Karl Darlow decided to leave as a free agent. Reports have also emerged that Perri is set to leave in the coming weeks.

But the Brazilian was part of the squad list that will make the trip to the US.

Tuttomercato are now reporting that Lucas Perri’s possible move to Torino is on the verge of collapse. The information provided is that the Italian side are struggling to reach an agreement with Leeds, who want to sign a replacement first.

Perri has already given his okay to the Serie A side, who are themselves looking for a new goalkeeper.

Torino wanted to complete the move for the Brazilian, but it is looking unlikely to be done before their pre-season training camp ends.

This may end badly for Leeds

Keeping a player who wants to leave almost never ends well.

Last season, after Everton failed to sign Jack Harrison, he was re-integrated into the first team. But after a lack of minutes, he basically forced a loan move away in the January window.

Leeds also failed to take the chance to sell Illan Meslier and eventually lost him on a free transfer.

Perri is reportedly open to leaving after losing his place in the first team. The 49ers need to find a way to let him go, before he eventually becomes a problem as pre-season goes on.
