The goalkeeping situation at Leeds United has become increasingly complicated over the last few weeks. The Whites recently signed Ethan Ampadu to a new deal.
The club captain will now remain at Elland Road for the next four years. And recent updates from the club have revealed that some first team players have been offered contracts.
Karl Darlow, Sam Byram and Alex Cairns have deals on the table, as their current contracts are set to expire.
Darlow’s situation looks complicated, with Manchester United having showed huge interest this week. Sam Luckhurst reported on Friday that the Welshman could leave Elland Road.
There is a real possibility that Lucas Perri is the only first team goalkeeper under contract this summer.
But even the Brazilian’s future is not safe, with reports that Leeds could listen to offers for him.
Leeds United man could join Champions League club
Leeds United announced that Illan Meslier would be leaving at the end of this month when his contract expires. The French goalkeeper will not be offered a new deal at Elland Road.
Meslier has been the subject of a lot of debate since last year.
During the promotion campaign, Daniel Farke made the difficult choice after benching him following a series of errors. Karl Darlow stepped into goal and Leeds eventually won the league and got promoted.
Now the 26-year old’s time has come to an end after over 200 appearances for the club. SportsBoom are reporting that Lille have showed interest in the Frenchman ahead of this summer window.
Meslier is free to join any clubs after his deal officially ends this month. The Ligue 1 side are keen to add him due to his potential and experience.

Whites made a huge mistake with Meslier
It was obvious as of last year that Illan Meslier’s time at the club had come to an end. After some down seasons, he just could not be trusted as number one anymore.
But for the Whites to lose him for free in this market is a mistake.
Leeds had all the time to get him to sign a new deal last year, in order not to lose him for free. Now, they have to let him go for nothing.
The club’s problems could become worse if Karl Darlow decides to leave, with Manchester United currently being a serious option. The 49ers have work on their hands this summer.
