The 49ers had a methodical approach to this transfer window at Leeds United. The key here was to improve upon the team that finished in 14th place last season.
And before the season began, it was clear that the plan was to target high quality players.
Leeds had ambitious targets to start the window, with moves for Julian Brandt and Shea Charles planned. The club were not able to land either player, but made amends as the window progressed.
They were able to land Harry Wilson, who was brilliant with Fulham last year.
Then followed moves for Nico Elvedi, Tarik Muharemovic, James Trafford and Michael Zetterer.
On transfer deadline day, Leeds managed to squeeze in two more signings including left back Melvin Bard and Jean-Matteo Bahoya.

One signing that jumped off the paper is Muharemovic. Leeds United spent £34 million on a young defender from Sassuolo in Italy, beating out other big clubs to his signature.
The Bosnian defender played in the World Cup and quietly built his reputation in the Serie A.
His first few outings in Leeds colours have been very impressive, and he has even been named in BBCs Premier League Team of the Week. Muharemovic recently sat down in an interview with Gianluca Di Marzio.
The defender spoke about his career so far, and his transfer this summer.
He spoke about wanting to prove his level, with added motivation from Juventus selling him as a young player.
“This wasn’t in my hands; they had better ideas and knew why. Now I’m really happy to be here, at Leeds, and in the Premier League, and not somewhere else.”
“My focus is here and I just want to forget those early years. I thank Sassuolo and I’m truly grateful for what they’ve done for me. I’m at Leeds United to prove who I am. And thanks also to Giorgio, Nemanja, and Leo.”

Tarik Muharemovic could be Leeds next big sale
The 49ers have lofty ambitions and no doubt see the club winning a domestic trophy and even qualifying for Europe.
With how well the team have been boosted by the quality signed in the transfer window, anything is possible. But everyone around the club must face the reality that some of these players may be poached by other clubs.
Just like Pascal Struijk leaving to Brighton, Tarik Muharemovic could be the next one out.
The club’s ownership will no doubt do their best to keep all of their core players around the team for years to come.
