Leeds United transfer in trouble as player’s camp open talks with Europa League side – Tottenham to benefit from potential move

It took 91 minutes at Home Park for Leeds United to break the deadlock and put themselves in the lead. The Whites secured the league title away to Plymouth on the final day of the season.

Before Saturday, Leeds were level on point with Burnley. Both sides had the chance to reach 100 points in the league, and also lift the title. The Clarets had the advantage of playing at Turf Moor, while the Whites had to go away from home.

The game got off to a terrible start as the Pilgrims took the lead within 20 minutes. An own goal from Sam Byram was the worst possible way to start the day. Wilfried Gnonto brought Leeds back into the game just a few minutes into the second half. The away fans were very tense in the latter part of the game. But in one swift move, Manor Solomon played a one-two and found himself in the box, when he hit the ball hard and low for the match winner.

Solomon was instrumental in the run in, he was so good at the end of the season. Before the final day of the season, the Spurs loanee spoke to Leeds Live, hinting that he would be open to a permanent move to Elland Road:

“Daniel was one of the decisions [sic] why I joined Leeds, so definitely it could be one of the reasons why I will join Leeds in the summer, why or not,”

But there is a complication; according to Team Football, Marseille have contacted Manor Solomon’s representatives over a move. Roberto De Zerbi sees the 25-year old as the ideal profile to replace Luis Henrique. No deal has been confirmed, but the report claims Leeds are on ”red alert”. If Marseille move fast, it is believed that Spurs could increase the fee involved, now that there is competition for the player.

Leeds need to act fast

The club have a player on a silver platter. He himself has admitted he wants to join. After the season he has had, it would be insane to let him slip through your fingers. Daniel Farke and everyone involved need to act fast.

Solomon had 10 goals and 12 assists this season, in a year where most of the club’s attackers underperformed. The 25-year old has also had success in the Premier League, so there is confidence he will adapt to the top flight.

Why do you claim that”most of the club’s attackers underperformed”?

We scored 95 league goals, Dan James was runner up in Player of the Championship and Joel Piroe won the golden boot.

Have you any idea what you’re writing about?
