The summer transfer window is in the rearview mirror, but Leeds United did miss out on a few of their top targets while landing seven new players.
It is no secret that Leeds wanted to add more experience to their final third, and Daniel Farke has made it public that he feels that the squad could be a little short in attack.
Leeds did add Jean-Mateo Bahoya on a loan-to-buy agreement from Eintracht Frankfurt on transfer deadline day, but fans are yet to get a glimpse of the 21-year-old attacker.
He was not Farke’s priority target, and it appeared Leeds went quite a distance to land their number one attacking target before turning their attention to Bahoya.

The financial commitment Leeds were ready to make for a player is insane
It is no secret that Leeds wanted to sign Mykhailo Mudryk on loan from Chelsea, and they pushed hard until the end, when it became clear Tottenham were signing him.
It later emerged that Mudryk was keen on joining Leeds, but Tottenham’s willingness to sign two players from Chelsea and his relationship with Roberto De Zerbi turned out to be the difference-makers.
However, according to the BBC, Leeds didn’t miss out on the winger because of money. The 49ers were willing to break the bank for the player.
Leeds not only offered a significant loan fee and agreed to cover his full £100,000-per-week wages, but they were willing to sacrifice more money to get the deal over the line.
The Whites offered to pay a significant financial penalty if the player didn’t get the required amount of minutes during his loan stay at Elland Road.
However, Spurs eventually won the race to sign the Ukrainian winger on loan, and he has already suffered an ankle injury after one cameo appearance for the north London club.

Leeds have dodged a bullet
It would have been a significant gamble if Leeds had managed to sign Mudryk on loan from Chelsea, and not only for financial reasons.
Leaving the money aside, the winger returned to football this summer after almost a two-year absence, and his physical conditioning for Premier League football is unknown.
Leeds could not have blown money on a player who could have taken half a season to get back to the sharpness needed to compete in the Premier League.
He has also sustained an ankle injury after one cameo appearance for Spurs, and this one player Leeds would not regret missing out.
