Nadiem Amiri regretting Leeds United snub this summer – Reports

According to a report from TEAMTalk, Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Nadiem Amiri is regretting his failed move to Leeds United this summer.

The German was part of an ongoing saga earlier this summer, as he flew to England to agree a deal with Leeds United’s hierarchy before deciding not to join the club later that day.

The Whites signed Ethan Ampadu, Glen Kamara and Illia Gruev as midfielder depth instead. Ampadu has been one of the standout players in the league this season.

New information from German outlets indicate that the midfielder is regretting not making the move to England after only playing 75 minutes over the last month. Here is an excerpt from the exclusive report from TEAMTalk:

“Kicker reports that Amiri has now accepted his career at the BayArena is as good as over and he may have made a mistake in rejecting Leeds.

They also report that Amiri is ‘aiming for a move’ in January with just six months left on his deal. And per their information, they state Amiri wants to rid himself of the ‘family influence’ that ‘cost him his move’ in the summer.”

The report revealed that Amiri’s partner was against the move to England due to the fact that she was pregnant and expecting a child soon. The midfielder is said to have convinced his wife about a move to England, with an eye towards Leeds United next summer.

The 27-year old has featured in just five games this season for Bayer Leverkusen, the feeling at the club this summer was that his stay at the club had come to an end – something that has become very evident this season.
