Pundit delivers blunt ultimatum to Daniel Farke

After two consecutive wins following the FIFA international break, Leeds United couldn’t maintain their momentum, ending in a scoreless draw against Bristol City at Ashton Gate Stadium on Saturday.

Leeds United had enjoyed a solid 2-0 win over Sheffield United and a 2-1 victory against Watford, both at Elland Road. With that success, Daniel Farke’s team aimed to carry their positive form into this away match against mid-table Bristol City.

In the first half, Leeds created more opportunities, firing off eight shots compared to Bristol City’s three, but both teams went into halftime without a goal. Leeds added nine more shots in the second half, while Bristol managed just one. Despite their efforts, neither team could find the back of the net.

With the Whites struggling to secure a win against a mid-table Championship side, concerns are beginning to rise about their chances of earning promotion to the Premier League.

Leeds United could fire Daniel Farke if he doesn’t lead the team to promotion after their disappointment in the playoff final last season. In a recent episode of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, former Leeds goalkeeper Paul Robinson mentioned that Farke will be under pressure if the results don’t start improving.

“The requirement is to be in the Premier League,” Robinson told Football Insider. “As soon as Leeds lose a game, fall out of the top two, or fall out of the playoffs and look like missing out on promotion then there’s an issue.

“They came so close last year and they’ve shown what they can do now. With the squad of players at his disposal, they were pre-season favorites to go up. If he doesn’t get Leeds United up this season then there are real questions over his job.

“You expect the manager, with those players, to get them out of the Championship. If he doesn’t do it this year, there’ll be major questions asked, but at the moment you stick with him and give him the rest of the season.”

After a disappointing result this past weekend, a win against Plymouth Argyle is crucial, especially since they’re currently at the bottom of the Championship table.
