Simon Jordan drops Tottenham relegation admission ahead of Leeds clash: ‘Part of me…’

Tottenham Hotspur have had one of the most surprising campaigns out of any Premier League side this season.

When they finished 17th last year, it came as a bit of a shock. But many expected them to bounce back in a huge way, and there was a lot of optimism after hiring new manager Thomas Frank. Frank had a decent start to the season, but things fell off a cliff near the end of last year. Spurs lost four of their six games to end December which put them in a horrible position.

They parted ways with Thomas Frank and brought in Igor Tudor, who was not an improvement – he only lasted seven games before being shown the door. Roberto De Zerbi is now Spurs boss and has the unenviable task of securing premier league survival with limited games to go. He started off with a defeat, but the team have now gotten four points from their last two games.

Their next big game is at home to Leeds United next Monday. And with how things are shaping up that weekend, whichever team slips up could easily occupy the last spot in the bottom three. West Ham play Arsenal before Leeds and Spurs play on Monday night.

Simon Jordan has been speaking on talkSPORT, saying that he has mixed feelings about Tottenham Hotspur staying up in the Premier League this season.

“I want Spurs to stay up.

“But part of me wants to see them relegated because it’s a better story.”

The race at the bottom became very interesting as Roberto De Zerbi’s side got a win against Aston Villa, and West Ham slipped up against Brentford.

Can Leeds get another result away from home?

The Whites will visit Spurs at home at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium. Roberto De Zerbi’s side have one of the worst records at home this campaign, having won just two of their 17 games, winning 11 points. Leeds are not the best on the road, but have found a good formula when visiting ‘bigger’ teams. Daniel Farke’s side are unbeaten over the last six away games, including a win away to Manchester United. Going into Monday night’s game, they will be full of confidence, but they will have to be wary of playing a side who have their season on the line at home.
