“Got to do it against Leeds” – Jason Cundy and Jamie O’Hara in heated Tottenham debate on talkSPORT

Leeds United are all but safe now after moving onto 43 points with Friday night’s win over Burnley, putting them in a strong position to stay in the Premier League for another season.

Daniel Farke has tried to keep a lid on any celebrations until survival is mathematically confirmed. Even so, Leeds could secure their top-flight status before they head to Tottenham Hotspur next Monday.

That trip to north London could still have major implications. A win for Spurs might be enough to keep them up, but if Leeds take something from the game, Tottenham could find themselves back in danger.

Leeds’ trip to north London next week is likely to generate headlines and interest because of its importance, and Jamie O’Hara and Jason Cundy are already feuding about the quality of the Tottenham side.

O’Hara and Cundy went at it over Tottenham ahead of the Leeds clash

The win over a weakened Aston Villa side at the weekend has awakened Tottenham’s hopes of Premier League survival, and they are finally out of the relegation zone.

On talkSPORT Sports Bar on Monday night, Cundy and O’Hara went on a heated debate about how good Tottenham really were at Villa Park on Sunday.

Cundy took offence to O’Hara calling Tottenham’s performance against Villa brilliant and reminded him that Spurs are still fighting relegation.

The former Tottenham star insisted that Spurs need to replicate it again when Leeds come to north London, but kept insisting that Spurs were brilliant.

Cundy hammered O’Hara for being shameless and trying to elevate a solid Spurs performance against a weakened Villa side to something that was not.

O’Hara claimed, “We were brilliant against Aston Villa; they had a World Cup winner in goal.”

Cundy jibed in and said, “Now, you are brilliant? You have got some neck!

“You were good, and Villa were bad, and both can be true. But let’s have it, Villa stunk the place.

“Now, all of a sudden, you are brilliant. Spurs fans have no shame.

“You have the gall to use the word brilliant. I have seen brilliant Spurs sides; that is not brilliant.”

O’Hara again insisted and said, “We were brilliant against Aston Villa, and we have got to do it against Leeds and Chelsea.”

Cundy slammed him and said, “That’s your version of brilliance? We whooped you, and I didn’t say we were brilliant.”

The Whites can put Spurs back in their place next week

Leeds may be safe by the time they travel to Tottenham on Monday. However, Daniel Farke’s side will have revenge on their minds ahead of next week.

The Whites were defeated by Tottenham at Elland Road earlier in the season, in a game they didn’t deserve to lose, and probably should have won.

West Ham will also hope that Leeds do them a favour and get something from their trip to Spurs on Monday night to keep the Hammers in the survival race.

Roberto De Zerbi may be banking on Leeds not being as intense if they know that Premier League survival has been guaranteed by the time they kick off on Monday night.
