Leeds United look all but safe now after moving onto 43 points with their win over Burnley on Friday night, putting them in a strong position to stay in the Premier League.

Daniel Farke has been keen to keep a lid on any celebrations until it’s officially confirmed, but survival could be secured even before their trip to Tottenham next Monday.

That said, the game in north London could still carry huge importance. A win for Spurs might be enough to keep them up, but if Leeds take something from it, Tottenham could find themselves pulled right back into the relegation fight.

With Leeds preparing to take on Spurs next week, the Premier League has confirmed a major decision about the big game in north London.

Referee revealed for Tottenham vs Leeds United clash

The Premier League has confirmed Jarred Gillett will take charge of the game between Spurs and Leeds at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Monday night.

Neil Davies and Steve Meredith will be his assistants, with Tom Kirk acting as the fourth official between the two technical areas.

Craig Pawson will be the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) for the game, and Nick Hopton will be the assistant VAR.

Gillett has been involved in a few controversial moments in Leeds games this season, including overseeing the draw with Brentford when the Bees were criticised for time-wasting.

He was again the referee in the FA Cup semi-final when Leeds players were left furious when Chelsea goalkeeper Robert Sanchez faked an injury to slow down the Whites’ momentum in the second half.

The Whites hope Gillett will come down hard on any time-wasting at Spurs

Leeds have been left fuming with some of the refereeing in the Premier League this season, and they hope to have a better experience towards the end of the campaign.

Gillett was in charge of the Brentford and Chelsea games, where both teams resorted to dark arts and deliberate time-wasting to derail any Leeds momentum.

The Sanchez experience is more recent, and Leeds fans are still trying to swallow the bitter pill of losing the FA Cup semi-final against a poor Chelsea side.

They hope that Gillett will show more strength and come down on any deliberate time-wasting when Leeds take on Tottenham on Monday night.
