Leeds United managed to grab a huge result away to Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium. Ahead of the game on Wednesday night, fans were not happy with Daniel Farke’s decision.

The Leeds boss went full strength away from home to Bournemouth. Some supporters were concerned about the upcoming FA Cup semi-final against Chelsea this weekend. The game was keenly contested between both sides, with the deadline being broken in the second half of the game. Eli Kroupi gave Andoni Iraola’s men the lead, an own goal levelled the game, before a late goal from Rayan looked to have sealed the game. Sean Longstaff came off the bench to score a late equalizer to steal a point.

Simon Jordan blasts Burnley after Premier League relegation

Wednesday night was a great result for Leeds fans, but not so much for Burnley fans. After their 1-0 loss against Manchester City, the Clarets have now been officially relegated from the Premier League. Simon Jordan has given his opinion on Burnley’s relegation on talkSPORT, slamming them for being ‘lightweight’ and pointing to Leeds as an example Scott Parker’s side could have replicated.

“I thought one of the reasons why Burnley might do better is because they conceded 16 goals in 46 games last season, and it seems to me something has changed in the way they defend, because being destructive and defending is easier than being offensive and creative. I thought Burnley would perhaps be able to stifle games and come out with more draws like Leeds have and be more competitive in games, they haven’t been competitive in games, they’ve been lightweight and beaten.”

“I think Leeds are safe, done a brilliant job Daniel Farke and he’s had no particular amount of money, he bought in people who people thought were done, Dominic Calvert-Lewin was an injury waiting to happen, but the one thing that Leeds were was highly competitive and I don’t think you could say that Burnley were and that’s the question Scott Parker has to ask himself.”

After Wednesday night, the Whites have hit 40 points and have definitely secured another season in the top flight.

Leeds are a team promoted clubs can look up to

Before the season began, almost everyone ruled out the Whites, saying they would be relegated. But the recruitment in the summer did one key thing; it brought in players with experience and quality. Leeds added players like Anton Stach and Jaka Bijol, who had all starred in great clubs in Europe’s top leagues. Reports also reveal that the club targeted physical players to deal with the intensity of the league. And so far, it seems to have worked; the club’s summer signings have been their best performers this season. Credit must also go to Daniel Farke, who has done an incredible job in this campaign.
