Leeds United lost against Newcastle United on Wednesday night, bringing their undefeated streak to an end despite an impressive showing at St. James’ Park.
After picking up huge results against Manchester United, and away to Liverpool at Anfield, there were some who believed they could do it again away to Eddie Howe’s side. And they did make it difficult, as they took the lead three times in the game. But at the end, Daniel Farke admitted that the team’s poor game management cost them points.
Jamie Redknapp full of praise for Leeds United man
During this winning run, a lot of credit has to go to Farke and the players. Him switching the tactics has been one thing, but some first team stars have taken to their new roles flawlessly. Brenden Aaronson is one of them, and Jamie Redknapp was full of praise for the Leeds United man on the night. The midfielder scored twice despite his side losing the game.
“I like him, like the way he plays, he’s got tremendous technique… little stepover, how often we see that, someone shoots, it goes through botman’s legs, and you think at this point, game over.” Redknapp said.
With this loss, the Whites have to go back to the drawing board and pick themselves up once again. The unbeaten run was good, but what mattered more was the performances on the pitch. Leeds played well on Wednesday night, and in any other game, they would have been walking away with at least a draw. Up next for the Whites in the league is a clash against Fulham.
Brenden Aaronson has come into his own recently
Brenden Aaronson deserves all the credit; his journey at Leeds United has not been the easiest. A big money signing who was tagged a flop because of how he started his campaign in the top flight. He had to leave the club on loan to try and regain himself in Germany.

Then Daniel Farke handed him a huge chance, using him in a specialist position in the Championship. Now, the American has reinvented himself again in a different role. Leeds fans may complain about what he offers in attack; but when the conditions are right, he is arguably one of the team’s best players when you take performances into account.
