Fans will agree that Leeds United have done a decent job at ‘clearing house’ in this summer window. Over the years, the list of unwanted players at the club has grown.
There were too many bloated contracts and players who were not needed lurking around the first team.
This summer, the club has taken huge steps to getting some off the books. Leeds managed to sell Isaac Schmidt without making a loss on the books, and let go of Max Wober who was on huge wages.
Another high earner Jack Harrison has also left the club, and a few more could follow.
Largie Ramazani and Joe Gelhardt were the other players who were left out of the traveling squad to the US for pre-season. As things stand, those two could also follow.
Club boss confirms interest in Leeds United star
Valencia remain patient as they eye an approach near the end of the window for the Belgian winger.
And this week, it has been revealed that Birmingham and Hull City are among clubs in talks over a move for Gelhardt.
It was reported by German outlet Hamburger Abendblatt that Sebastiaan Bornauw is a player that is wanted by Bundesliga side Hamburg. Bornauw was not used much last season, and only played when first choice defenders were injured.
The transfer link has been strengthened this afternoon as HSV porting director Claus Costa confirmed the news.
He revealed that the Leeds United defender is one of their targets for this window.
“We are familiar with both players. They are on the list of players we are looking at. It’s not as if the deals are imminent, however.”

49ers have a huge decision to make
Leeds United will no doubt have a tough decision to make over Sebastiaan Bornauw’s future.
He is a good player, and whenever he did play last season he showed the quality. However, the Belgian was limited to a total of just 17 games where he featured for over 700 minutes.
Bornauw was reportedly set on leaving in January due to his playing time.
And now the chance has come for Leeds to let him go. If Hamburg do submit an official offer, the Whites have a lot to think about.
Do they keep a very capable backup who wants to play consistent minutes or sell him and try to find another player who will accept the backup role with no complaints? Tough decision for the club ahead of the new season.
