Leeds United’s form has not only catapulted them away from relegation fears, but it has also pushed Tottenham to the brink of dropping out of the Premier League.
Daniel Farke’s men picked up seven points from their last three Premier League games and now have a nine-point cushion from the relegation zone while hitting the proverbial 40-point mark in the table.
Wolves and Burnley’s relegation has been confirmed, and Tottenham sit 18th in the Premier League standings, two points off safety with five games left in the season.
They are now being widely considered as the favourites to go down, rather unexpectedly. But Jamie O’Hara has provided some fighting words in favour of his former side ahead of the end of the season.
‘We are beating Leeds’ – former Tottenham star makes huge claim
Tottenham have now won a Premier League game in 2026. They came close to beating Brighton at home last weekend but conceded a late equaliser to drop two more points.
They are widely expected to go down, but O’Hara is insistent that Spurs will stay up and highlighted Roy Keane as one of the pundits who are still backing them to be safe.
He has backed a Spurs side that have not won a game this year to win three of their last five league games, including a home win over Leeds, to secure Premier League survival.
O’Hara said on talkSPORT: “Spurs are getting out of it, I am telling you now.
“I am saying it, Roy Keane said it, and Spurs are staying up.
“We are going to beat Wolves, we are going to beat Leeds, we are going to beat Everton, and we remain in the Premier League.”
The Whites can help Spurs this season
Daniel Farke’s side are almost certain to stay in the Premier League, and one more win should be enough to make it official.
If Leeds can pick up a victory in the coming weeks and get past Chelsea in Sunday’s FA Cup semi-final, their priorities could shift by the time they head to Tottenham next month.
That is exactly what Spurs will be hoping for. If Leeds are already safe and have an FA Cup final to think about, Farke might choose to rotate his squad for that game.
Before the trip to north London, Leeds take on Burnley at home, and a win there should seal their survival.
By that point, Leeds could already be out of Tottenham’s reach, which would suit Spurs just fine. Safe, comfortable, and possibly a little distracted by the prospect of a Wembley final.
