Leeds United have hit the 40-point mark in the Premier League, and while survival is still not mathematically guaranteed, the club are more or less certain to play in the top flight next season.

With Premier League safety secure, Leeds are now set to press the accelerator on their plans for the summer transfer window and make moves in the market.

The Whites are almost certain to sign a new goalkeeper in the summer transfer window, and it is seen as one of the biggest priorities ahead of next season.

Brighton goalkeeper Carl Rushworth, who is currently on loan at Coventry City, is one of the players Leeds are keeping tabs on ahead of the summer transfer window.

Carl Rushworth set for summer move as agents line up imminent talks

Leeds have been left impressed with what they have seen of Carl Rushworth this season and are keen to make a move for him in the summer window.

Carl Rushworth has played a major role in securing Premier League promotion for Coventry and Brighton see him as a long-term number one at the Amex Stadium.

However, Frank Lampard wants to hold on to Rushworth and is pushing Coventry to secure the goalkeeper on a permanent deal in the summer.

They have the advantage of him being at the club for now, and according to talkSPORT, talks are set to take place soon over a permanent transfer window.

His agents are keen to meet Coventry in the coming days to discuss a potential deal that would see Rushworth sign a permanent contract with Lampard’s side.

Leeds are among the other Premier League clubs that are interested in the goalkeeper. However, Coventry have the edge due to the relationship between Lampard and Rushworth.

The Whites have a decision to make on their goalkeepers

Lucas Perri has lost his place in the team to Karl Darlow, but the Brazilian’s heroics in the FA Cup have played a major role in the Whites reaching the semi-final.

He is expected to start against Chelsea at Wembley on Sunday, but Darlow has been the first-choice goalkeeper in the Premier League since January.

However, he will be out of contract at the end of the season, and Leeds are yet to offer him an extension.

The arrival of a new goalkeeper means Leeds will have to either sell Perri or allow Darlow to leave on a free transfer at the end of the season.

A decision will have to be made before the summer if they want to sign Rushworth or any other new goalkeeper in the coming months.
