Things have been fantastic for Leeds United fans over the past week. The Whites have picked up seven points from the last three games.

This is a huge turnaround from before the international break, when Daniel Farke’s men managed to pick up just two points from their last for. Leeds’ draw with Bournemouth this week has seen the club hit 40 points. The club are now nine points clear of Spurs in 18th place in the Premier League. Three games without defeat will surely give Leeds confidence heading into the FA Cup semi-final this weekend.

Leeds star speaks ahead of Chelsea clash

Their opponents Chelsea, have had a horrible week; after losing 3-0 Brighton on Tuesday night, the club held a meeting over Liam Rosenior’s future. The Blues decided to sack Rosenior on Wednesday, following a run of four league games without a defeat. Calum McFarlane will takeover as interim manager for the rest of the season, and will be in the dugout for this weekend’s semi-final.

Ahead of the FA Cup game, Lucas Perri has been speaking to the media. “I have had a couple of good matches so I am happy to help the team with the opportunities that I have got. I am looking forward to the semi-final, of course.

“As a whole, I believe this is a great opportunity for the club to be back in the semi-finals after a long period of time so in general it is a good feeling! It is incredible for the club. It will be an amazing feeling and we are looking forward to it.”

Speaking on their opponents, Chelsea, the Brazilian keeper had this to say:  “They have incredible players,”

“We are going to have a difficult match but we can do it. Everything is possible in football so we have to believe.”

Lucas Perri set to start in FA Cup semi-final

As things stand, Perri will be in goal against Chelsea this weekend. He has been the preferred option in the cup, and his presence at the press conference ahead of the game backs this. The Brazilian was signed to be the club’s number one, but had multiple disruptions during the season. He returned from injury and had a poor run of form, committing errors in key games. Farke took the option to bench the Brazilian and make Karl Darlow the club’s number one. But Lucas Perri has had a very positive reaction; he has been present in every cup game and showed his quality. In the penalty shootout against West Ham and Birmingham City, he was decisive. Leading the Whites to a place in the cup final would do wonders for his future under Farke.
