Leeds United are still keen to add another striker this summer, with Daniel Farke keen to ease some of the pressure on Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
The former Everton forward enjoyed an excellent first season at Elland Road, scoring 14 league goals and playing a major role in Leeds staying in the Premier League. However, his importance also exposed a weakness in the squad, with Leeds lacking another reliable goalscorer whenever Calvert-Lewin was struggling for form.
That makes a new centre-forward one of the club’s priorities before the transfer window closes. Farke wants someone who can challenge Calvert-Lewin for a starting place, while also giving him the option of playing both forwards together when needed.
The new arrival must also be capable of leading the line when Calvert-Lewin is unavailable. Adding another proven option up front would give Farke greater flexibility and reduce Leeds’ reliance on one player over the course of a demanding Premier League season.

West Ham prioritise move for Leeds-linked striker
Leeds United are still looking to add another goalkeeper alongside James Trafford and remain keen to strengthen their attacking midfield options before the transfer window closes.
However, signing another striker remains one of the club’s biggest priorities, with Daniel Farke determined to take some of the goalscoring pressure off Dominic Calvert-Lewin ahead of the 2026/27 Premier League season.
Leeds have shown an interest in Burnley striker Zian Flemming, but they could also watch one of their long-term targets move elsewhere in the Championship.
Troy Parrott has been linked with a move to Elland Road for much of the last 18 months and remains a player who is highly regarded by those at Leeds. However, the Whites could now have to watch from the sidelines if the Republic of Ireland international makes a move to another club.
West Ham are in the running for the forward and are keen to take him to the London Stadium in an ambitious move.
AZ Alkmaar have already rejected a bid from the Hammers, but according to Voetbal International journalist Joost Blaauwhof, Parrott is now a priority signing for West Ham.
The Hammers are pushing hard to secure a deal to take the Ireland striker to the London Stadium.
German giants RB Leipzig are also interested, but West Ham are determined to convince Parrott to play in the Championship this season.
Should Leeds United get involved for Troy Parrott?
Leeds United need to bring in another striker this summer. They simply cannot afford to rely on Dominic Calvert-Lewin staying fit throughout another demanding Premier League campaign.
With Joel Piroe expected to leave and Lukas Nmecha not known for regularly finding the net, adding another centre-forward is likely to be high on Leeds’ agenda before the window closes.
The Whites have been monitoring Troy Parrott for more than a year, but AZ Alkmaar’s asking price has repeatedly made a deal difficult to complete.
If West Ham believe they can afford to sign the forward while competing in the Championship, Leeds should also be capable of finding a way to finance the move.
For Parrott, a move to Leeds could also be more attractive than joining West Ham, as it would give him the chance to remain in the Premier League rather than spend at least another season in the Championship.
Once again most of our targets are also linked with other clubs, and if they are interested in the Championship then they lack ambition, and not the players we want?
Suspect a season of winning games is preferable to a season spent losing and fighting relegation again. Welcome to the London Stadium Mr. Parrott.
Considering there has been no links with Leeds for some time I suspect he is no longer a target. West Ham are probably promotion certs but trying to persuade a full international to leave a top league and drop down a division when his asking price is probably north of 25 million is a big ask.
If Leeds are interested though, I hope they will enquire about Kees Smit too. I expected him to have moved in this window already. Maybe his price is astronomical but he would be a quality 10 for us.
