Leeds United splashed the cash last year on their return to the Premier League. The team has come far since then, and now this side looks very different under Daniel Farke.
The Whites managed to avoid relegation and finished in 14th place.
Farke’s decision to change the team paid off in a huge way, as they went on a run early in the season and never looked back.
Leeds spent over £100 million last summer and a lot of that went into buying quality players. They got players who came into the lineup and became instant starters like Anton Stach and Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
James Justin and Lukas Nmecha also contributed as squad depth pieces.

Daniel Farke’s side was almost completely revamped last year, and the team was very different from the one that won promotion.
Out went players like Junior Firpo and Manor Solomon while the team added over 10 new players. Daniel Farke wanted midfield reinforcements and the team signed Anton Stach and Sean Longstaff.
The duo were expected to partner Ethan Ampadu in the middle of the park, and the start of the season showed that.
While Ampadu and Stach have kicked on and stood out from the rest of the league, Longstaff has fallen behind. The former Newcastle United star is now on the fringes of the first team.
Longstaff was linked with an exit in the summer, but has stayed at the club.
Looking at his current form and status within the team, it is inevitable that he could leave in the coming months. So between now and January, Sean Longstaff will have to perform every time he is called upon if he does want to stay at Elland Road.

What happened to Sean Longstaff?
He started off very well and had a run in the team where he chipped in with a few goals and assists.
What disrupted his progress was the injury he suffered which sidelined him for months. During that time, Ilia Gruev and Ao Tanaka stepped up and filled in the role.
When he was fit again the other players were playing well and he could not get into the first team.
Since then, he has not found his way back into the team and behind them in the current pecking order.
