Leeds United have a long list of targets this summer. Daniel Farke and the recruitment team are already working on the squad ahead of the summer transfer window.
The club might have to rule one major target out after huge news this week. Newcastle striker Callum Wilson is set to hold talks with his club over a new deal. This could scupper Leeds’ plans of trying to sign the 33-year old on a free transfer.
It seems like the attack is the main area of focus in recent weeks. Leeds managed 95 goals in the Championship, but will definitely need more quality if they are to repeat this in the Premier League.

There are alternatives that have been linked with a move to Elland Road, including Jamie Vardy and Beto. Leeds are currently heading into the summer with Joel Piroe, Patrick Bamford and Mateo Joseph as the options up top. Piroe has question marks about how his goalscoring will translate to the top flight, and both Bamford and Joseph have been linked with moves away.
The Whites can now take the next step in their search for a new striker. This week, Leeds target Troy Parrott spoke on his future ahead of the summer window:
“Whatever happens, it’s not going to be my decision… If someone asked me now, I would say I want to stay. I’ve had the best year of my life in football so far. I’ve loved every second of it.” he said speaking to ESPN.
“I am focused. In my mind I will be here next season. I am ready to go again.” Parrott added.
Over the last month, reports claimed the AZ striker was available for £25million.
Leeds set to miss out on deal
Another blow for the club following the Callum Wilson news. Even though there is hope that a new development could come around, the best thing Leeds can do is look to other targets for now.
When the summer window opens in June, a lot of situations will become clearer.
Good news really, Wilson, despite being a good player and a proven goal scorer, would probably have spent half of the season injured where as Parrot is untested in English football and has a huge price tag he would struggle to justify.
