Sean Longstaff’s situation at Leeds United has taken a drastic turn over the last year. With January approaching, there is every possibility that the former Newcastle man could find a new club.
Last summer, Longstaff came in as one of the big name arrivals.
Daniel Farke really wanted to add some steel and physicality in the middle of the park. So when the team added both Longstaff and Stach, they were set to tackle the new season.
And in the first few games, things worked out really well.
Leeds’ midfield trio of Ampadu, Stach and Longstaff and they performed very well in the first few weeks of the season. But after an injury, he lost his place in the team and has not bounced back.

There were whispers that the former Newcastle man could look for a way out this summer, and Leeds United’s transfer plans seemed to point to that.
The Whites targeted Shea Charles, and Julian Brandt for the midfield. But they failed to sign either, and in the end it looked like Daniel Farke was happy to keep his core of midfielders.
If Longstaff continues to be on the bench in the next few months, then you cannot completely rule out a January exit.
And with his departure, the club will definitely look to the market for the replacement.

Wataru Endo

The Japanese international would be a decent fit in this Leeds side; there would be no pressure on him coming in as a starter.
Endo is defensively sound and very good on the ball. He would ease the pressure of Ethan Ampadu in some games; signing him would not be difficult given his spot in the pecking order under Andoni Iraola.
Harrison Reed

Leeds could also look to Fulham once again for a solution to their midfield.
The veteran is an important contributor to the London side, but with their spending over the years, he has settled on a role on the bench. It could be easy to entice him with a move in Jauary.
Ryan Yates

Yates has also suffered from the new arrivals at Nottingham Forest.
The club captain rarely gets playing time in the team. His aggressiveness and intensity make him well suited to English football, ad he could give Leeds the bite they need in some big games.
Andre

The Brazilian was one of the better players for Wolves last season when they got relegated.
He has the skill and ability on the ball, and is the perfect box-to-box fit for someone like Longstaff. Andre could be easily persuaded to make the jump from the Championship in January.
Lewis Ferguson

Leaving the shores of England, Lewis Ferguson would be a very difficult deal to complete.
He is Bologna’s captain and has quietly established himself as a top midfielder in Italy. The 27-year old could be tempted by a Premier League move at this stage of his career.
