From all the reports early in this summer window, it is clear Leeds United are targeting key areas of the pitch to revamp. So far, the club have agreed a deal to sign one player.

The only confirmed business the Whites have done since the window opened is the sale of Pascal Struijk.

The defender was sold, as he had no intention of renewing his contract and Leeds needed funds to avoid PSR sanctions this summer.

Harry Wilson is a deal that will be officially announced soon.

Per multiple reports, the formalities concerning the transfer have been resolved and the midfielder will be heading to Elland Road. Wilson will sign a four-year deal, and join as a free agent.

Leeds United see bid rejected for major transfer target

Julian Brandt is also a target for Leeds United as they look to add quality to the midfield.

The former Borussia Dortmund player is a free agent, however he could be snapped up. His agent has been seen at Spanish club Real Betis in the last few days, which means the Whites need to act fast.

Southampton’s Shea Charles is another major target for the club.

Leeds have already had an initial £20 million offer rejected for the young midfielder. But the 49ers are keen on bringing him to Elland Road; the player is also open to a move.

talkSPORT’s Alex Crook is now reporting that another bid has been rejected for the Saints star.

It is believed to be less than £23 million, which falls short of the valuation of his club. Charles has one-year remaining on his deal, and Southampton could lose him for free next year.

49ers need to pay the transfer fee

If Leeds United want a quality addition to the team, they need to pay the transfer fee.

As long as Southampton’s valuation is not over the top, a move for Shea Charles should be one that the club wraps up quickly. But it must be noted that the ownership are careful with their transfer dealings.

Last summer, they managed to get value for money on key players like Jaka Bijol and Anton Stach.

Charles is a good player that the recruitment team at Elland Road are very keen on. So if Leeds do really want him, then they must spend the money available to land a top target.
