Patrick Bamford has found a surprise supporter in Chris Wilder at Sheffield United this season after Daniel Farke pushed him out of Leeds United in the summer.
The former Chelsea man was not happy with the way his departure from Leeds was handled, and was not too pleased to be thrown out of the first team squad during pre-season.
He had offers from Spain and the United States. However, it took him a while to sort out his next move until Wilder signed him for Sheffield United last month on a deal until the end of December.
It was a shocking move as Bamford had some unsavoury words to say about Wilder when he was at Leeds. However, the two have combined well at Bramall Lane.
Chris Wilder wants Sheffield United to sign Patrick Bamford on a longer deal
Bamford has looked the part in a Sheffield United shirt and has already scored twice in four Championship games since joining the club last month.
He netted in a 3-0 win over Portsmouth before scoring another in a 4-0 victory over Stoke City last weekend.
Wilder is delighted to have a striker of Bamford’s Championship experience in his squad and is loving working with him at Bramall Lane.

The Sheffield United boss is pushing the club to sign Bamford on a longer deal and is keen to have him in his squad beyond the end of his current contract.
He has made it clear to the board that he wants Bamford and Jairo Riedewald signed on long-term deals in the winter transfer window.
“Not really, [my January plans have not changed]”, Wilder said in a press conference.
“Need to do Jairo and Pat, 100 per cent, and I have said that to the board.
“The effect the boys have had, and we need to fill some positions.”
Bamford is proving a few critics wrong
It made sense for Leeds to offload Bamford in the summer. However, the way he was shunted out unceremoniously without him getting a chance to say goodbye to the fans left a bitter taste in the mouth.
The striker was unhappy with the way he was treated as a pariah, and was quickly moved out of the first-team squad early in pre-season.
Farke didn’t trust him enough after last season, and his injuries meant that there were always question marks about him.
However, Bamford is looking fitter than ever at Sheffield United and is showing that he is still good enough to play at a decent level.
He has looked good in the Championship, and even a hard-nosed manager like Wilder is keen to ensure the former Leeds striker stays longer at Bramall Lane.
Bamford is shutting up a few critics and naysayers who felt that the forward should have retired once he was moved out of Leeds in the summer.
