There has been a sharp contrast in the feeling around Leeds United this season as compared to the last. The Whites looked like they needed more pre-season entering last year.
The team had not completed their transfers, and the players needed time to gel.
Daniel Farke had to put together a team with 10 new players signed in the summer window.
Things eventually worked out as the club managed to beat relegation and finished in a very impressive 14th place. And with the business being done, fans will expect more this summer.
Leeds have had a very good pre-season, with the season kicking off this weekend.
Daniel Farke warns Leeds United fans ahead of new season
Their first Premier League game is away to Oliver Glasner’s Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
Leeds United fans are very optimistic about the club’s chances this time around. Looking at the results they racked up in friendlies, and the transfer additions, many expect a finish above 14th this time around.
But Daniel Farke has warned fans that going into this campaign, things will be much more difficult.
”It is important to start as well as possible, also to keep in mind what the past tells us.” he said in Thursday’s press conference.
”The second solid season is difficult because expectations are a bit higher, a very dangerous year. The first target is to achieve 40 points and stay in the best league in the world.”
”We stay humble and know it will be a difficult season ahead.”

Farke is right about this season
A ball is yet to be kicked, but Daniel Farke is right about the increased expectations.
Yes, the business done has been great, and many will expect something to show on the pitch. There is a difference this time around; teams that finished below Leeds have strengthened.
Spurs have splashed the cash, Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace got a new managers as well.
A lot of teams are now aiming to avoid finishing below the Whites like they did last year and are investing in that.
Leeds are not the only team spending, and because of that, fans should expect a much more difficult campaign ahead of them. The 49ers need to get the rest of the transfer window spot on if the club are to have a comfortable campaign this time around.
