Daniel Farke is now focused on getting his Leeds United side ready for Saturday’s Premier League opener against Nottingham Forest. However, work continues behind the scenes as the club looks to add more quality to the squad.
Leeds have already made four signings this summer, with Nico Elvedi becoming the latest arrival after completing his move from Borussia Monchengladbach on Wednesday.
The Whites have also been busy on the outgoing front, with Joel Piroe and Sebastiaan Bornauw both completing loan moves to West Ham and Hamburg respectively this week.
Leeds are stepping up their efforts to fill other gaps in their squad with Daniel Farke pushing the club to bring in more players before the end of the transfer window.

The Whites face a major delay in the pursuit of their fifth summer signing
Leeds are working on bringing a backup goalkeeper after sorting out their number 1 position by signing James Trafford on a club-record deal.
Eintracht Frankfurt goalkeeper Michael Zetterer has emerged as Leeds’ top target, and the club are working on a deal to take him to Elland Road.
However, according to Sky Sports News reporter Zinny Boswell, Leeds will have to cross a few hurdles before they can finalise a deal to sign the 31-year-old goalkeeper.
Leeds have lined up a deal to sign the German, but no agreement is still in place between the two clubs.
The deal is facing major delays at the moment as Eintracht Frankfurt want to sign a replacement before sanctioning the goalkeeper’s sale before the end of the window.
Leeds are also facing delays in finalising the departure of Lucas Perri. Torino are yet to give the final approval to the move, and the Brazilian is yet to recover from a minor injury.
Torino supremo Urbano Cairo has yet to greenlight the move to sign Perrif from Leeds on loan with an option to buy.
Zetterer’s proposed move to Leeds will only go through once Eintracht sign a replacement and Perri’s Elland Road departure is finalised.
Leeds need a backup for Trafford, as Alex Cairns is not good enough
Alex Cairns has played during pre-season for Leeds and has shown why he is considered nothing more than a third-choice at Elland Road.
He didn’t look like saving a single penalty in the shootout defeat against Manchester United in Dublin and has not looked confident enough between the sticks.
James Trafford is now the undisputed number 1 at Leeds, but the club need a proper backup goalkeeper if and when the England star is not fit.
Cairns has done nothing to fill anyone with confidence that he could step up if Trafford is injured or if Daniel Farke decides to field a different goalkeeper for cup games.
