Daniel Farke handed starts to some players in the first team during the League Cup tie against Chelsea. However, not everyone had minutes on Wednesday night.
Michael Zetterer and Melvin Bard made their debuts, while Brenden Aaronson and Dan James started the game.
Farke mentioned that he would like to win the cup competition this year. So many did not expect him to ring the changes like he did against Chelsea, but he surprised everyone.
Things were going very well when Leeds took the lead in the second half.
And everything looked even more promising when they doubled their advantage early in the second half. But the visitors were powerless to stop the home side from putting six goals past them to win the tie.

The game between Leeds United and Chelsea on Wednesday night ended in a 6-3 drubbing for Farke’s side.
Early in the second half, Xabi Alonso made four changes that turned the tie in their favour.
Leeds only responded to the changes when they had gone down 4-2, with Tanaka, Okafor, Stach and Calvert-Lewin all coming on to try and save the game. Farke’s final substitution saw Melvin Bard go off.
The left back had a poor game, and looked to have picked up a knock which forced the change. The Leeds boss explained what happened in the second half.
“I didn’t really see the penalty coming and then two minutes later they scored the 2-2, more or less,” Farke said after the game.
“There was nothing in the air to smell it.”
“After that they more or less turned the game and we were in need, of course. We had to take risks to bring some of our most important players like Dominic Calvert-Lewin, like Noah Okafor, Anton Stach.”
He also said that he thought about bringing Jean-Matteo Bahoya but changed his mind when Bard signalled to be taken off.
“In the last 20 minutes I wanted to go even more risky and bring Jean-Mattéo on but sadly Melvin Bard gave me the sign that he couldn’t go further on because he had cramps and Jean-Mattéo is not a left-back.
“I had to bring Gabriel Gudmundsson on.”

When the Frenchman arrived on deadline day, it was quite clear from Daniel Farke’s tone that Leeds would take their time with him.
The Leeds boss mentioned that the club would have to be patient while developing him.
Bahoya is yet to make his debut for the club, and could have come on last night before Melvin Bard’s situation changed everything. Farke admitted that the Chelsea game was a chance to give a few players a run out.
When the club return to league action, it might take a while for Bahoya to adapt to the first team.
He will only make an appearance when Daniel Farke deems him to be ready enough to play.
