News already emerged that the recruitment team is preparing a shortlist of possible transfer targets this summer. Outside that some crucial decisions will need to be made when it comes to the team itself. Daniel Farke and the 49ers agreed to put off talks of any contract extensions until the end of the season. And there are some players who are in line for new contracts as well.
Daniel Farke gives worrying update on Ethan Ampadu’s future
Leeds United captain Ethan Ampadu has entered the last 18 months of his current deal at Elland Road. With how he has performed this season, it is clear that the club will do everything possible to extend his contract. But Daniel Farke delivered a worrying update on Monday night when asked about the midfielder’s future.
“Today I was really just concentrating on this game and the match so I want right now to just concentrate on the here and now.” Farke said, via Hayters.
“Everything has achieved. We’ve just achieved our goal and I was just concentrating on the game.
“You know how much I think about him and everyone can read between the lines and know what I think about this topic.
“I’ve also told myself that I won’t speak about the future, I won’t speak about what will happen in the summer until everything is confirmed.
“Right now it is confirmed and I promise you in the next press conference or whenever you ask me the question, I will give you detail.
“But don’t be too angry with me that straight after the game, right now, I’m just focused on this game and I don’t want to overdo it.
“I’m just happy and proud of him and all my players for what we have achieved.”

Leeds United boss is clearly not pleased with the 49ers
There is clearly something going on behind the scenes at Elland Road. Just over a week ago when Farke was asked about Karl Darlow’s future, he gave a similar response that he does not want to speak on it. The manager is not directly involved in handling renewals, so his stance is a fair one. However, now that the club has secured another season in the top flight, it will be interesting to see how all these contract negotiations go down.
