Gabby Agbonlahor drops West Ham vs Leeds claim on talkSPORT that will worry Tottenham fans

Leeds United battled to a 1-1 draw away at Tottenham in north London on Monday night, a result that also helped keep West Ham in the survival fight.

Mathys Tel gave Spurs the lead early in the second half, but Leeds responded through Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who converted a penalty after a lengthy VAR review.

Daniel Farke’s side almost went on to win the game late on, too, only for Tottenham goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky to make an excellent close-range save to deny Sean Longstaff.

Despite already securing Premier League survival, Leeds showed no lack of intensity and matched Spurs throughout the contest. It now leaves Tottenham with a genuine chance of getting relegated from the Premier League.

Gabby Agbonlahor’s Leeds United claim will leave Spurs fans worried

Spurs are only two points ahead of West Ham in the league table and have two tough games lined up against Chelsea and Everton at the end of the season.

Agbonlahor has insisted that West Ham’s fight against Arsenal convinced him that the Hammers are going to stay up this season.

He expects Nuno Espirito Santo’s side to beat an out-of-form and struggling Newcastle side away from home this weekend and then take all three points against Leeds at the London Stadium on the final day of the season.

The former striker believes Tottenham will lose against Chelsea, and the result against Everton on the final day won’t matter.

Agbonlahor said on talkSPORT: “I think Spurs are going down because of the fight that I saw from West Ham against Arsenal.

“I think the Newcastle players are on the beach; there are problems there, and they have nothing to play for.

“I think West Ham will beat Newcastle and Leeds; I think Spurs will lose to Chelsea, and even if they beat Everton on the final day, which is a tough ask, I think they will go down.”

The survival race is going down to the wire

Leeds’ performance on Monday night threw West Ham a lifeline in the relegation battle, and the Hammers still have a real opportunity to climb out of the bottom three.

Roberto De Zerbi has already urged Leeds to show the same level of commitment and intensity when they face West Ham on the final day of the season.

Tottenham, meanwhile, still have a massive London derby against Chelsea ahead of them, and the Blues would be more than happy to heap further pressure on Spurs with a positive result.

The survival race could now go right down to the final day, when Leeds travel to the London Stadium to face West Ham.
