After the Villarreal game, Leeds United have one more pre-season friendly before they kick off their Premier League campaign against Everton. Head coach Daniel Farke still thinks the team is not ready.

This past week has seen injuries pile up during training camp. Leeds had to play Villarreal without five first team stars. There is a worry that some of these players will not recover from their knocks in time to play the Everton game.

Leeds are still in the market as they seek to add a few new faces to the squad. But the most important business will be with departures, as so many names linked with an exit.

This week, Graham Smyth reported that Leeds had missed out on a huge transfer that went under the radar. The club missed out on an opportunity to sign Ritsu Doan, who is now set to join Eintracht Frankfurt.

The Chronicle is also reporting that RB Salzburg star Bobby Clark snubbed Leeds United to join Derby County. The former Liverpool academy star will be with the Championship side for the rest of the season. Clark is part of a long list of names that the Whites have failed to sign in this transfer window.

Clark explains Derby County decision

Former Liverpool star Bobby Clark, explained why he chose to join Derby County. Apparently he made the decision after he was involved in a friendly against the Championship side.

”Once I found out Derby were interested, I had a chance to speak with the manager and the staff. With his goals and the way he is aligned with me, it seemed right.

”(The friendly against Salzburg) was around the time when I knew that Derby were interested. It was a weird one after speaking to the coaching staff, the club and then playing against them as well!

”…I’m at a point where I want to prove people wrong, and I’m hungry to play football again, especially being back in the UK. It’s a great league and I just want to kick on here.”

Leeds continue their search for new signings

The Premier League kicks off soon and Leeds still need a few more additions to the squad. Daniel Farke made a great point; there are some areas of the team that need reinforcements.

Especially in attack. The club cannot play their first league game of the campaign with Lukas Nmecha and Joel Piroe as their main attacking options up top.
