This summer is shaping up to be an interesting one for Leeds United. The 49ers are clearly preparing for the future as they see a long-term stay in the top flight.

Work has commenced on the Elland Road expansion project, which is expected ot be completed in the next few years. The project will boos the revenue coming into the club down the line.

Ethan Ampadu putting pen to paper on a new contract also shows how the 49ers mean business.

Club chairman Paraag Marathe made it clear that the team did not hesitate to give the Leeds captain a new deal. Ampadu’s willingness to commit long-term shows the ambition of the ownership.

Daniel Farke’s future is set to be the latest to be decided if reports are to be believed.

The Leeds boss is said to be close to an agreement with the club to continue beyond next year.

Leeds United line up four new signings in summer spree

With Farke going to be the man in charge beyond next season, it is believed that Leeds United have serious plans for this summer window.

Per TEAMtalk, at least four players could be signed before the start of next season. The club is said to be targeting a goalkeeper, a striker, a left sided defender and a creative midfielder who can play out wide.

Last season saw the club splash over £100 on 10 new additions to the first team.

These new signings greatly helped as Leeds managed to finish above the relegation zone – Farke guided his side to a 14th placed finish in the Premier League.

Fans will be expecting the team to make some serious reinforcements if they want to stay afloat next year.

Recruitment team have identified areas of need

Praise must be given to the recruitment team over the last few seasons. They have done a great job of identifying and strengthening areas of Daniel Farke’s first team squad.

The goalkeeping situation will be key as Karl Darlow remains undecided about his future.

Gabriel Gudmundsson was a solid addition last year, but he had no proper backup. Getting somebody who can compete with him and provide depth would be a huge boost to the team.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s goal drought early in the year showed that Leeds cannot solely rely on him – so another striker is needed.

Farke has been after a creative midfielder for over a year; adding one to the team gives them a lot of flexibility.
