This weekend was big one for Leeds United in their battle for survival. Daniel Farke’s men recorded an impressive win against Burnley on Friday night.
With 43 points in the bag, the Whites have all but clinched safety in the Premier League. Anton Stach, Noah Okafor and Dominic Calvert-Lewin were all on the scoresheet in Friday night’s game. After the result, the fans at Elland Road celebrated, with the club on the brink of securing top flight football for another season.
But when Farke was asked if the team was safe, he said the job was not done: ”Will celebrate when mathematically done. Don’t want to stop on 43 pts but it’s good.” Other results this past weekend will have boosted the confidence of everyone around the club.
West Ham make big call on Nuno Espirito’s future
On Saturday, West Ham failed to beat Brentford; losing 3-0 to Brentford. This put them back in danger, with Spurs having a game in hand on Sunday. Tottenham capitalized on the Hammers’ slip up, beating Aston Villa to climb out of the relegation zone. The picture at the bottom of the table is now much clearer, as it looks like West Ham and Spurs will fight it out to see who avoids a spot in the bottom three.
Nottingham Forest play on Monday night, and a result could also push them to safety as well. With three games left to go for most teams in the Premier League, everything is left to play for.
West Ham have made an internal decision ahead of their final games this season. According to The Telegraph, the Hammers want to keep Nuno Espirito Santo in charge even if they are relegated from the Premier League. The London club face Arsenal, Newcastle United and Leeds in the fina three games of the campaign.

Leeds made the right decision with Daniel Farke
With the club on the brink of survival, the 49ers will look back on this season and be proud. One key moment during this campaign was around November when Leeds looked like they were heading for the bottom three. Farke was under pressure, and the team was in a losing run. Many expected the German to be sacked by the 49ers, with new coaches linked to the Elland Road job. However, Leeds were patient and gave Farke time to turn things around. The run the team went on between December and January has played a big part in where they find themselves now. And in a week, the Whites could confirm safety in the Premier League – with Daniel Farke playing an incredible part in the journey.
