Leeds United added another result to their unbeaten run at Elland Road on Friday night. The win over Burnley means that the Whites are six games unbeaten in the Premier League.
Leeds are now on 43 points and are on the brink of mathematical safety ahead of next weekend. They have breathing space while the likes of Forest, West Ham and Spurs still have a way to go. Daniel Farke’s men play Spurs on Monday night, but could secure safety before kick off if results go their way. Some people may argue otherwise, but it has been a very successful season for league fans. And with three games to go, thinks could be even better.
Simon Grayson backs Leeds United boss after great season
Daniel Farke has done a great job with this team, and former Leeds United boss Simon Grayson said he never had doubts going into this season. Grayson said the team has been consistent, and the players and fans have played a big part in it.
“They’ve been really consistent and teams that look like they’re going to get relegated aren’t consistent and we’ve looked really consistent. I said six games unbeaten in this run.” he said on LUTV.
“Sunderland beat us there before that, and then I think we had another six, eight games maybe, were undefeated. We’ve never really looked like we’re going to be in any trouble.
“Of course, on paper, when you’re in the table, it looks like that at times, but I’ve just seen a unity about the group, a spirit about the group, a togetherness, the backing of the supporters, a manager who knows what he’s doing.
“Everything was going along as if we’re going to be fine and we’ve proved that’s been the case.”

49ers have to extend Daniel Farke’s contract this summer
Before a ball was kicked this season, many tipped the Whites to go down. Farke felt the worst of it, as many outlets predicted him to be sacked before the league even kicked off. But the Leeds boss has stayed strong throughout everything. Fans were on him when the team was poor, but the German managed to turn things around massively as the season has progressed. Securing another season in the top flight, and reaching the FA Cup semi-final should be considered a successful season with everything considered. With reports that Leeds and Farke will hold talks over his contract in the coming months, the right thing to do is give him an extension for the job he has done this season.
