Leeds United are in the driving seat as the end of the Premier League season draws closer. If the Whites can make it past this upcoming weekend, then fans can start preparing for next season.
These coming months could potentially hold a lot, as the club have a lot of decisions to make. Especially about the future of some players in the first team. Leeds still have contracts to sort out with Ethan Ampadu and Pascal Struijk. The 49ers need to also make a decision as three first team goalkeepers Karl Darlow, Alex Cairns and Illan Meslier are all out of contract.
Daniel Farke gave the green light for some stars to leave on loan, as they were not happy with their playing time from the previous season. The likes of Max Wober, Isaac Schmidt and Jack Harrison are all set to return to Elland Road.
Leeds United set for huge boost from Championship playoff outcome
A trio of the club’s youngsters will also find out their future in the coming weeks. Largie Ramazani has impressed on loan at Valencia, and the Spanish side is open t a permanent deal, with Leeds United eager to recoup the winger’s transfer fee. Farke also hinted to Mateo Joseph’s future, as the forward’s season ended early due to injury.
Joe Gelhardt is also still under contract at Elland Road come this summer. The forward has had a stunning season in the Championship with Hull City, scoring 14 goals and providing five assists. The Tigers clinched a playoff spot, and could have a chance of promotion if they make the play-off final.
Hull City have had Gelhardt on loan for the past year, and he has impressed in both of his spells. Five goals in the second half of last season helped them survive the league, and his 19 goal involvements this term have pushed the club to the playoffs. In the even the Tigers do reach the Premier League, then the transfer fee for the forward will be significant.

Joe Gelhardt could make good money for Leeds
As things stand, Leeds United are set to make a lot of money if they do decide to sell Joe Gelhardt. He has 19 goals in the last year playing for Hull City in the Championship. And the forward is not in Daniel Farke’s plans going forward. So it is only smart for the Whites to cash in when his value is at its highest. Leeds blew a similar chance last summer when they refused to take an eight-figure fee for Mateo Joseph when Wrexham were interested. Gelhardt’s performances have provided the 49ers with a very good opportunity, and they have to take it when an offer comes.
He could also save us a lot of money if we work out how to utilise him as a DCL understudy
