Leeds United walked away from Old Trafford with a huge 2-1 victory over Manchester United, putting six points between themselves and the relegation zone.
It was their first league win at the stadium in over 45 years, and it could prove to be a turning point in their fight to stay in the Premier League.
Noah Okafor was the standout performer, scoring twice in a dominant first half where Leeds created plenty of chances they’ll feel they could have taken.
The result at Old Trafford was also bad news for Tottenham, who are in the bottom three at the moment, and will host Leeds in the Premier League next month.
Jamie O’Hara concedes that Leeds are pulling away from Tottenham
Leeds beating Manchester United piled more misery on Tottenham, who dropped into the bottom three following West Ham’s win and their defeat at Sunderland.
Former Spurs star Jamie O’Hara had a minor meltdown last night when he lamented Tottenham’s gradual descent towards the Championship this season.
He lavished praise on Leeds and their players, and feels their performance against Manchester United showed that they were never really under the threat of relegation.
O’Hara said on talkSPORT: “Tonight, I saw Leeds put in an amazing performance.
“The teams are pulling away from us because Spurs are terrible; we haven’t won in 2026.
“I didn’t really feel like Leeds were in it because you are a good team.
“You have got energy, you have got some good players, and you have got fight.
“Leeds are a good side, you are down there, but you shouldn’t really be there when you put in performances like tonight.”
The Whites may be one win away from survival
That win at Old Trafford could prove massive for more than just confidence, as it also put daylight between Leeds and Tottenham in the relegation zone.
With only six games to go and Spurs still without a league win this year, that gap now looks pretty healthy.

Leeds also have a favourable run of fixtures against Wolves, Burnley and Tottenham, making it difficult to see them slipping into the bottom three.
Realistically, one more win should be enough to all but secure safety, and given their current form, you’d fancy them to get it.
