Huge transfer update as Leeds United target makes decision

It was reported earlier this week that Leeds United had set their sights on Rodrigo Muniz as their first choice target. Daniel Farke had urged the club to add more reinforcements in the attack.

Leeds have signed seven new players this summer, and only Lukas Nmecha plays in attack. The depth from last season has also been depleted over the past few weeks. Patrick Bamford has been told that he is not in the plans for next season. The 31-year old is with the Leeds U21 squad, as no offers are on the table for him – Middlesbrough sources rejected transfer links recently.

Mateo Joseph also joined Mallorca over the weekend. The Spain U21 international refused to join camp this summer, so Leeds structured a loan deal with the La Liga side for this season.

Fulham boss Marco Silva spoke a few weeks ago, revealing that there is some business ahead:

“Myself as a manager, and all the managers, they would prefer to have the squad almost complete in this stage of the pre-season. Until now, it’s not been possible. And I understand the fans.

“But what I can tell them is we are working hard, we haven’t started in terms of signings. But we have a lot of business to do in this market.”

Now it looks like Fulham will get some income to start their business. According to Sacha Tavolieri, Rodrigo Muniz has made his choice. He has made it clear that he wants to join Atalanta this summer.

Atalanta set to win transfer race

It was reported on Tuesday that the Italian side had taken the lead in the transfer race. Reports claimed that negotiations were fast paced, with the fee reaching in excess of £35million. Fulham have rejected a deal, but it looks like the Italian side will up their offer to complete the transfer in the next few days as personal terms have already been agreed.

Leeds miss out on another huge target

After missing out on Igor Paixao, many would have thought Leeds would have learnt their lesson. But it looks like the club are set to lose another huge target.

In situations like this, you have to show the initiative and make the first move. Leeds have allowed Atalanta to do that and now they have missed out on a huge transfer.
